The Sports Authority of the Armed Forces and the International Council for Military Sports signed a contract to organize the third World Cup Military Football Championship (Egypt 2021), which is considered the first military world cup championship in its new version to be held in the African continent and 16 teams worldwide participate in it “4 teams from Europe, 4 teams From Africa, 4 teams from Asia and 4 teams from the Americas. They will be held on the stadiums of “Cairo, the Military Academy, Air Defense, Petrosport, E-salam and the Armed Forces Sport Authority”.
The Minister’s Assistant of Defense delivered a speech in which he emphasized that promoting sports competition and physical education among members of the Armed Forces in various countries of the world is a noble goal pursued by all Armies, explaining that the Egyptian Armed Forces represented in the Military Sports Authority promises a wonderful and distinct organization of the championship that will be held for the first time in Africa In its new version as best, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Egyptian Olympic Committee and the Egyptian Football Association.
Mr. Hervey Robert, President of the International Council for Military Sports, delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness that Egypt is organizing the third Military World Cup and his confidence that the organization of the tournament will be at its best, explaining that the Egyptian people are football-loving people and love their national Army and that will be reflected in the tournament, thanks to all Governmental bodies that will participate in the International Council of Military Sports in organizing the championship.
The technical committee of the International Military Sports Council had passed over the readiness and willingness of the Arab Republic of Egypt to host the championship from stadiums, hotels, hospitals, insurance elements and transportation, and Egypt obtained the honor to organize the tournament after submitting the nomination file during the activities of the General Assembly of the International Military Sports Council, which was held in Vietnam in General 2019.
The organizing contract stipulates that the Military World Cup Soccer Coordinating Committee affiliated with the International Military Sports Federation and the local organizing committee cooperate, applying the best standards of cooperation to ensure the proper organization and implementation of the Military Football World Cup.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports, a number of leaders of the Armed Forces and a group of public and sports figures in Egypt and Africa.
